10th Grade Scholar Success Requirement: Interview an IU Alum
Workplace experience helps students gain a better sense of certain jobs and work environments. Share your career knowledge with students interested in our career field. Interviews help 21st Century Scholars meet their program requirements.
11th Grade Scholar Success Requirement: Tour an IU Campus (Virtual)
Answer questions about IU campuses via promotional material. Use iPad technology to take virtual tours and learn more about each campus. Virtual tours help 21st Scholars meet their program requirements.
Alum Station
Assist IU alums in completing contact cards. Distribute thank you kits to guests who update the contact card. Encourage IU alums to share stories and post photos on the engagement board.
Apply to IU/Submit Your College Application
Assist high school students in taking advantage of the IU application waiver during Indiana Black Expo. Students can apply to one or more of IU’s campuses or regional centers at one time.
Indiana University Graduate School
Answer questions about the IU Graduate School Bloomington and Indianapolis via promotional material. Use iPad technology to showcase opportunities.
IU Photo Booth
Facilitate visitor experiences at the IU photo booth. Assist the booth manager in bringing excitement, managing the lineup, and distributing the printed photos.
Multipurpose Floater
Refresh T-shirts and promo inventory items as needed. Run quick errands, maintain volunteer suite, review catering orders before refresh times, help dismantle the IU booth, and pack materials on Sunday afternoon.
Scholar Success Requirement: Watch the Video
Assist students in accessing the appropriate video for the 21st Century Scholars Success Program requirements. Manage the lineup and order of video rotation. Remind students to mark their Scholar Track.
Social Media Ambassador/Street Team
Explore the exhibit hall and general convention center, generating interest and directing visitors to the IU booth. Encourage IU friends to post on their social media pages using #IUIBE. Friends who post photos can pick up a social media gift from the IU booth.
Volunteer Check-In
Manage IU volunteer area daily, including refreshing name tags and volunteer kits. Check in all volunteers and invite them to the IU hospitality room—inventory refreshments after each catering refresh. Dismantle volunteer check-in station on Sunday (clean up the room, get boxes consolidated and packaged/cleaned up to take down to IU booth). Assist as needed.
Welcome and IU Prospective Student Kit Pick-Up
Greet all IU visitors and help navigate each experience in the IU booth. Check in prospective students who registered for an IU gift. New prospective students should complete an undergraduate interest card. Registered and new prospective students receive the designated IU gift—direct all other guests to stations within the IU booth.
