Educators from across the county attend this one-day conference. It will feature Pedro Noguera, Distinguished Professor of Education at the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA as the keynote speaker.
Indiana University will lead a professional development workshop titled “The Realness of Race and the Myths of Ethnicity”. In this interactive session, participants will engage in meaningful discussions of cultural identity, specifically race and ethnicity and the implications it may have on teaching and learning. Participants will gain an enhanced understanding of how our culture has taught us to use arbitrary characteristics to define and label people.
